Haunted Week Day 3: Skeletons on my Bookshelf

Supposedly, everyone has a few skeletons in their closet—I think everyone has a few on their bookshelves, too. Today feature five books you've owned for a long time but never read.

Sorry this is a day late!! I had a Halloween themed dance yesterday...and then my internet was dead all today. Oops! Okay, let's get right into it.

1) Bright Young Things by Anna Godbersen
I read Anna's whole 'The Luxe' series, and even pre-ordered this book.

When it came, I just never started it.

I feel guilty because I love her writing style, and this book deserves to be read. At least it looks pretty on my bookshelf!

2) The Healer's Apprentice by Melanie Dickerson

This book is right up my alley, both a retelling and historical.

Even though I purchased this over a year ago, I just never sat down and started it.

3) Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly
This is really a shame. I know I should've read this. I really do. When I purchased it, I also bought like, 9 other books that were series and had been waiting for.

Therefore, this one kind of hit the back-burner.

So many people have told me to read this book, especially when I rave about Jennifer's A Northern Light! I truly should try to read this one at some point.

4) The Alpha Bet by Stephanie Hale

I purchased this book so long ago..

Just one of those books that never intrigued me enough for me to read.

5) Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice

I know I know, this is a classic I need to read.

And...that's why I purchased it. Still haven't read it.....

I figure at some point I'll read it, I just feel no true urgency to do so.

Okay :) Let me know what you think of these books, and if I should read any of them! Have a nice weekend!

  1. I've heard such good things about Revolution, but I still have yet to read it!

I think that I've read The Healer's Apprentice, but I so can't be sure about that one.

Bright Young Things...I don't really want to tell you this (it paints the book in the wrong light) but I hated it! I...it says in the beginning that someone would get married, someone would die, and that someone would be famous. (All of the main girls, that's who she's talking about.) But by the end of the book, after being bored to DEATH by it's long prose, none of that had happened. And I found out that it was a series--one that I had no interest in reading. But I'm so totally biased, and you shouldn't listen to me, because I didn't like the Luxe either! (Seriously, if you liked the Luxe, disregard me.)

Thanks for stopping by my post! :D

    1. I really want to read Revolution! It seems like a shame to not read it....same goes the The Healer's Apprentice. And as far as Bright Young Things, I'm not certain I'll ever get around to it. I loved the Luxe series, the I also liked the era more in the Luxe series.I don't really find the 20's all that fascinating!

      And thanks girl :)
