Review: Finale by Becca Fitzpatrick

I FINALLY FINISHED FINALE! (as you can tell.)

Title: Finale
Author: Becca Fitzpatrick
Series: Hush, Hush
Genre: YA Paranormal
Pub Date: October 23, 2012
Pages: 454

Will love conquer all?

Nora and Patch thought their troubles were behind them. Hank is gone and they should be able to put his ugly vendetta to rest. But in Hank's absence, Nora has become the unwitting head of the Nephilim and must finish what Hank began. Which ultimately means destroying the fallen angels - destroying Patch.

Nora will never let that happen, so she and Patch make a plan: lead everyone to believe they have broken up, and work the system from the inside. Nora will convince the Nephilim that they are making a mistake in fighting the fallen angels, and Patch will find out everything he can from the opposing side. They will end this war before it can even begin.

But the best-laid plans often go awry. Nora is put through the paces in her new role and finds herself drawn to an addictive power she never anticipated.

As the battle lines are drawn, Nora and Patch must confront the differences that have always been between them and either choose to ignore them or let them destroy the love they have always fought for. (From Goodreads.)

Okay okay okay. I'm excited to review this!

I really liked the end of this series, unlike many last books, it was action-packed but not rushed. Everything 'tied' up, no loose strings.

Nora really came to be a strong female protagonist over the course of this series. At first she wasn't all that strong but in the end she was independent which I loved.

Patch of course was fabulous and I love him to death. He's so protective yet let Nora do her own thing in Finale.

Vee/Scott are adorable. Love them. You'll see what happens though. What happened kind of saddened me.

Spoiler: (Highlight to see.)
Vee shouldn't have been a Nephilim...it seemed forced and confusing. Mid-way through the book it was like oh suddenly my bff is Nephilim, which I didn't get. And Scott...awww I wish it didn't end that way but I suppose someone had to die.

I wish Marcie hadn't moved in with Nora...that seemed so random and didn't really add to the plot in anyway. ( I suppose the Halloween party kind of added, but couldn't that have done without Marcie moving in.

In addition, I thought even though there was so many different plot parts, it all worked together. It made logical sense and aside from the few issues I had with it (can be seen in the spoilers,) I really enjoyed reading it.

I read this rather slowly. Primarily because it was so dang long and also I've had SO much homework that I haven't had time to read every night. I know a review is overdue so hear you guys go!

  1. I really liked your review (I didn't read the spoiler part at all!). I've only read Hush, Hush but I loved it. I read it in one sitting on a Saturday morning and I fell in love. I have Crescendo sitting on my book shelf and I'll have to pull it out soon!
